here’s a summary of what we’re doing in relation to covid-19…
Firstly, we ask that nobody comes to Twist if they have symptoms of COVID-19, live in a household with someone who does or have been asked to self isolate by NHS Test & Trace.
We’ve enhanced both our hand washing and cleaning regimes. We have a 5* Food Safety rating so we were already great at this, but we’ve added in some additional measures.
We’ve removed some tables, increased the distance between the remaining tables and moved things around. We have systems in place for waiting, moving around the building and browsing the games library to assist with social distancing.
We’ll be limiting the total number of people in the building to half our (new) capacity – we’ve got more space upstairs now!
It’s advanced bookings only to start with. Bookings are limited to a maximum of 6 people, and we ask that you don’t socialise with other tables (and strictly no joining tables together/merging groups). We know it’s great when you bump into friends, but for now we ask that you just give them a wave from afar.
To reduce the number of people arriving at once, we’ll only be taking one booking per 5 minute time slot. Please show up on time to help us with this. If other people are arriving we’ll ask that you wait outside until they’re in.
We’ll be giving you directions and then letting you see yourself to your table. We’ll wait until you’re settled and then come over. That way we’ll avoid dancing around trying to stay out of your way whilst you get seated!
We’ll be asking everyone to sanitise their hands when they arrive and regularly throughout their visit, particularly when moving around the building or getting new games.
We’ve put lots of measures in place that will allow you to stay at your table (more time for games!):
- You’ll only be able to order from your table (orders at the bar will only be accepted for takeaway)
- If you know what you’d like from the games library just tell a member of staff and we’ll grab it for you
- If you know what game(s) you want before you arrive, pop a note on the booking form and where possible we’ll have them waiting on your table for you
- Taking more than one game at a time back to your table is actively encouraged!
- Pending a new card machine install, we should be able to take payments at the table going forwards.
Our menus are now laminated and will be wiped down between tables.
Customers with children will be asked to supervise their children at all times to ensure they are following the guidelines.

Update regarding masks:
Masks are at the individuals discretion. You are not obliged to wear one. If you choose to wear one and need anything to facilitate this just let us know when you’re booking (e.g. sanitiser will be provided for you at your table so you can take it on and off at your table if you wish).
In terms of our staff, that is also down to the individual. We are trialling out visors for our staff, providing we don’t run into any issues it’s likely we’ll be adopting these as a standard across the team.
